This is the wreath I made last March. It’s so simple and effective, using natural elements and the classic soft yellow and green colours of spring.

You will need:

A classic grapevine wreath base, florist wire and a glue gun – they are all available at Hobbycraft.

Moss to cover the wreath base. I can easily collect enough from my lawn at this time of year, but you can also order it from your local florist.

Yellow Statice flowers and Gypsophila, again these can be ordered from your florist.

Soft bendable twigs. I find these around the garden from shrubs not yet in leaf. Or you can order a bunch from your florist.

Quails eggs and guinea fowl feathers. These are available on my website HERE.

Collect your moss into hand sized bunches. Place onto the top of your wreath base and wind the wire around, adding more bunches until the base is covered.

Next, add your sticks by pushing the thicker end into the base at regular intervals and securing them with wire as necessary until they lay flat.

Using your glue gun, stick the quails eggs to the twigs in groups of three. I put five groups of three at regular intervals, then added a single egg between each group.

Finally cut the stems of your statice flowers and gypsophila short, add a blob of glue to the end and push into the wreath base, the glue will help it stay in place. Both the statice and gypsophila will dry beautifully on the wreath and it will remain looking good for ages.

The last touch are the guinea fowl feathers. Again, add a blob of glue to the end and push in where you feel they look good.

There is a video on my instagram highlights on the process HERE.
