How to make a selection of different, natural Spring/Easter decorations
You will need : –
Moss – I get mine from the garden
Quails eggs – available on my WEBSITE
Dried flowers – beautiful, yellow, pink and blue bunches are available on my website
Glue gun and grape vine wreath base – available from HOBBYCRAFT
Mini bouquet place setting and table candle ring.
The table candle ring is made using the plain metal ring available on my website, adding moss secured with florist wire, then layering dried flowers and finally gluing on eggs and feathers of your choice. Shown below.
To make a simple place setting decoration. Simply bunch together dried flowers ( I’ve used limonium here, but any dried flowers would work well). Layer on feathers if you have them, secure with a ribbon bow and glue a single quails egg above the bow. As this is made from dried materials it will last indefinitely.
Hanging Florists Ring
These hanging florists rings are widely available, this one is from my website, and I have added the spring green rustic candle to it. You can also make a hanging ring from an embroidery hoop.
You first add a layer of moss to the bottom third of the ring and secure by winding florist wire around it. Next add bunches of your chosen dried flowers. Finally glue three quails eggs to each side and a few feathers if you have them.
Spring door wreath
This door wreath is made by using the yellow dried flower bouquet and quails eggs from my website, a large grape vine wreath from Hobbycraft, twigs and moss from the garden.
I covered a quarter of the wreath base in moss, added the twigs to each end of the moss to give structure. I then added the longer stems of the dried flowers and finally glued the straw flower heads and quails eggs to the moss.
There is a reel on my instagram showing the process of making the wreath, watch here https://www.instagram.com/reel/CpQZSHIqNaJ/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
This is how my dried flower bouquets arrive, they can be arranged straight into a vase or vases, made into a hanging or door wreath or used in the table decorations for Easter.
Hurricane lamp centre piece
For this you will need any large vase or hurricane lamp. Attach a large pillar candle (available on my website ) to the base with florist tape. Fill the area around the candle with moss and fill the base with water.
Next wrap three bulbs of tête-à-tête ( easy to find in supermarkets or garden centres) in moss secured with florist wire.
When you have two bundles of bulbs place on opposite sides of the vase
Fill the area between the bulbs with moss and place in some quails eggs and guinea fowl feathers. Finally add some twigs or small blossom branches for added structure. This display should last from seven to ten days as long as you keep the base topped up with water.
