This wreath is the quickest I’ve made. Last year I went away for the first weekend in December, when I came home I decided to make a quick wreath with what I had in the garden and house.
What you will need
- 6 sprigs of Christmas tree, or a bundle of sprigs from your local florist
- A wire coat hanger
- florists wire
- wired pine cones
- florists tape
- pheasant feathers
- wide ribbon
- eucalyptus
First of all, bend your hanger into the above shape ( secure with florist tape in the centre, not shown). Then place three sprigs of Christmas tree ( larger), in a fan shape, facing downward. And three ( smaller) facing upward, onto the hanger base and secure with wire. Then place eucalyptus sprigs on top, as shown below, and secure with wire.
The next layer is pine cones. I already had some smaller cones attached to stems ( I think from Homesense) which I spread in a fan shape and secured in the centre with tape.
Then I attached individual larger cones ( these were pre wired too as I had kept them from a previous years wreath). Some plain and some sprayed white. I then added the pheasant feathers. Longer at the top and shorter at the bottom, at an angle, simply pushed into the foliage. The last addition is a gold double bow ( this hides the tape in the centre).
All these materials I had left over from previous years wreaths, the Christmas tree sprigs came from our Christmas tree.
