This wreath is perfect for Autumn, reflecting the colours of the changing leaves and pumpkins of October and also the fiery hues of bonfire night.
You will need a grapevine wreath base, they are reusable and cheap. A glue gun, for attaching the pine cones and berries, both available at Hobbycraft. A selection of leaves, berries and pine cones, I explain what I have used below, and some secateurs to cut up the foliage.

Stage one is to completely cover the wreath base with leaves. I used 10 stems of dyed red oak leaves, pushing small bunches directly into the wreath base until the whole thing is covered. I bought mine from a florist, they are also available on Etsy or alternatively you could use large dark red Acer leaves, these won’t be as glossy and will dry out but will give a similar look. If you are using individual leaves I would suggest glueing them on.

Next I added green and orange dried Grevillea leaves, pushing them into them wreath base behind the oak leaves at a 45’ angle. Grevillea leaves are available from your florist (they will be able to order them in for you) or on Etsy. Alternatively you could use long leafed eucalyptus maybe.

Now to add detail and texture. I bought in a fluffy texture with burnt yellow dried solidago marvellous gold, again pushing small bunches directly into the wreath base. This is a common filler flower stocked by florists but you maybe lucky enough to have it growing in the garden. I dried mine for a few weeks to achieve the darker yellow hues, but I would think it would dry well on the wreath.

Finally I glued on pine cones in groups of three and bright orange pyracantha berries. These berries may need to be replaced in a couple of weeks but I have plenty in the garden. The pine cones are from a tree in my village, any type will work just as well.

I am expecting this wreath to last to the end of November when I will replace it with a Christmas wreath.

All I need to add now are some pumpkins
